Joshua Turpin is a doctoral candidate at Brite Divinity School/Texas Christian University focusing on womanist interpretive hermeneutics and the Hebrew Bible. He earned his BA in Biblical Studies with a minor in psychology at Oklahoma Christian University and his MA at Drew University.
He has also worked in various professions including restaurants, grocery stores, and supermarkets during this time. When possible, he co-podcasts about all the things he and his lifelong friend, a biology PhD student, learned growing up in a conservative children’s home.
His work focuses on race, class, and gender in the Hebrew Bible informed by womanist hermeneutics in a womanist-accomplice hermeneutic.
